Airport terminals, as monumental structures, significantly influence visitors' perceptions of one city. In this design, I aim to mitigate the mega scale of terminal in two ways - utilizing parametric roof & facade panels and introducing transition Spaces.

By implementing parametric facade panels, expansive roofs and facades are segmented into human-scaled shading panels. These panels are designed with a hierarchical structure that appears a overal pattern in a larger scale. In addition, I incorporated a series of smaller-scale transition spaces to facilitate spatial scale shifts. Features such as arched entry gates and cave-like elevator tunnels. These areas guide passengers through the linear processes during departure and arrival.

In order to make full use of the limited number of gates, a series of versatile apron is set up at the end of the terminal corridor and the corner, providing greater flexibility for Airlines Dispatcher and Ground Control. For example, 208 at the corner of the terminal finger can accomodate a larger dual-aisle wide-body aircraft such as 777, 787, A330, etc., when 208 is not in use, 208L and 208R can park two smaller single-aisle narrow body aircraft at the same time such as 737, A320 or E190.
